Mommy Talk

After a 3-week hiatus I'm finally back joining the Mommy Talk weekly questions! This week the question is, "What is your favorite baby item?"

The first thing I thought of was the Boppy! Besides helping with nursing there were many other uses for it:

Taking a nap...

Being easier to hold a newborn on your lap...

For throwing a blanket over it and using it as a prop in photographs...

For some "tummy time" and being able to "read" a book

For a little back support when you're not quite sitting up unsupported yet...

What are some of your "couldn't live without items"?

I did love our Boppy! For us, the bouncy seat was a big help. Both kids loved it, and it held them when I needed to be doing other things, needed them to nap (before they liked going horizontal to sleep). The bouncy seat was a big one at our house.

Love all the pics - thanks for adding them in!!!

We didn't have boppys when my children were babies. How I wish they would have. They look wonderful. Glad you are home, and that you had a wonderful trip. By the way, my sister was at the Science center in St Louis the same day you were--it was very stormy out. My family is from Missouri.

I really loved having a little swing in the house. I used the same swing for both kids. It was great but Nate started getting a bit "addicted" to it and then it had to go. It was good to have around though.

Love the Boppy, too. But for myself. I use it as a pillow.

It's amazing all the different uses for a boppy! Joey wouldn't breast feed but I still used my boppy with him all the time!

Yes ma'am. Love the boppy! Ours was so soft and had clouds on it. Both boys loved it. I love all those pictures of Kayla. How cute is she?

I thought we had some great things when our kids were little, but there are things out now that just amaze me. That Boppy is a terrific idea. I have to admit I wish I was the person who invented the sippy cup. Now that I would have loved to have had.

Oh Yes! The Boppy is great! We didn't have them when my oldest were born ~ but we bought one for Levi and have enjoyed using it already! Loved the pics of Kayla as a baby!!!

I feel so old. These weren't really out when my kids were little. Does that make me ancient? I just wanted to tell you the picture of Kayla with the Kiwi bird is STUNNING!! She is like the picture of youth and innocence. I'm glad to hear you're getting back into your routine! :)

The Boppy is up there.

A book called, "Trucks" by Byron Barton has been a huge success at our house.

Little Tykes outdoor swing on our back patio has brought Gage endless fun!

Indoor swing & Baby Papasan were also lifesavers....

Oh, my list of fabulous favorites could just go on & on....

:)
PS: your dtr is beautiful, and she does have big blueberry eyes!

Kendall and Kayla looked just alike as babies...tee hee hee.

Anyhow, its a faux pas now but infant feeders. You would layer baby food and cereal and they just suck it out of the nipple....Kendall used those very well when her tongue protrusion was severe and could not hold the food in her mouth so well....

We loved the bouncy seat for our kids, they slept in it and were soothed in it so easily.

Love the boppy too, but sometimes I was too lazy (tired) to go and get it and just whipped out a pillow!

Love it! We found the boppy to be great, but I honestly couldn't have lived without our baby swing!!

How I love these newborn photos of her, Michelle. My favorite thing was, by far, the automatic swing!

Your name is in the hat. Who knew so many people would be interested in these wedding favors! So good luck - I'd love to send you a set.

The black and white contrast books were our little guys favorite thing to look at, so I vote for those.

Also, the play yard, which is still a wonderful thing to have for travel or just containment. :)

Also, cloth diapers! We used them for everything from spit up to diaper pads and never seemed to have enough.

Finally, I have to give a big thumbs up to our "Swaddle Me" blanket which was much larger than a standard receiving blanket and made wrapping our big guy easier.

We never were that into the boppy, probably because we had such difficulty nursing and my memories of nursing weren't that pleasant. Lots of crying. From both of us! :)
