Grains of Gratitude

1. I'm grateful I was able to get Kayla's hair cut last week; although she didn't keep her head perfectly still her hair doesn't look butchered! I'm also grateful I was able to get my own hair cut as well. It had been several months. We both desperately needed a hair cut! Then I found out my stylist is leaving this week; thank goodness we got in last week!

2. I'm grateful the UCI (a big inspection on base) is finally over with. Now hopefully Joe will be home "on time" instead of preparing for the UCI. Yeah right, who am I kidding? If it's not the UCI it'll be something else!

3. I'm grateful the clubs on base are doing more fun events. Friday they had a "Family Fun Night/Kiddie Disco" event. We met up with 3 other families. There was a kids buffet and an adult buffet (although I did see some of the husbands getting food from the kids' buffet!) There was a jumping house, kids music, and a clown making animal balloons. At least the kids were allowed to run around, dance, and be loud and we didn't have to keep them restrained as at regular restaurant!

4. I'm grateful Joe has started to go on his 2-hr Saturday bicycle ride in the afternoon so I can start going to the 9 Am step class at the gym. I haven't been to a step class in about 2 years; I really needed to start going again! I could barely walk last week after my first class back, but I'm feeling fine today after going yesterday.

5. I'm grateful for such a nice day yesterday (the weather has been so nice last week too!). Yesterday I went to step class with Jennifer. After that Joe and I took Kayla to the zoo. When we got back Joe went on his bike ride with Jennifer's husband Jim (hmmm...I'm the only one w/out a "J" name here! - and their daughter's name is similar to Kayla's; it's Katelyn!). Then that evening they came over for grilled brats and a board game. Fun times!

Those are wonderful things! I can't wait for winter to be over here, too - I LOVE springtime!

Sounds like a fun weekend so far Michelle.
I understand about not being able to walk after your step class. My husband and I put our bikes away for the winter, but it certainly is time to get them out again. I just dread being crippled up for a few days afterward:-)
I always enjoy these sunday posts. It's fun to count one's blessings.

Well, I am glad he didn't have to work to hard, but it is still silly! I don't know if I commented on how cute Kayla's hair looks! I love long hair too, but remember how hard it was to keep looking nice on the girls!

Please pray for me tomorrow. I go to the dr. and it will wipe me out. Hopefully, they will be able to do something for me. I'm pretty much bedridden these days and it's not a lot of fun! But trying to keep a smile on my face~ :o)

Your Sunday posts always help me realize how grateful I am for all my blessings! Thanks Michelle!

Kayla's haircut turned out really cute!

The base where I work is hosting a family fun day and I'm getting tickets and taking Oronzo and Snuggle Bug. I think they'll enjoy it! :)

Happy Sunday to you!

Sounds like you have much to be thankful for. And what a good man to just take care of it. I guess sometimes we just have to pick our battles!

I have to agree that joining the gym makes you feel great. I only started 2 weeks ago, and I feel like a different person.

Nice list! I am inspired to do this myself! Hopefully I will soon, and get it on my blog.

Sounds like a great week ...

It is almost spring!

I have to be careful, I told Becca that her baby brother was coming in the spring. Now she keeps reminding me that if it is almost spring, that Ethan should be here soon!
