Slow Cooker Thursday

Apple Brown Betty
3 pounds cooking apples, Rome, Granny Smith, Jonathan, etc.
10 slices of bread, cubed, about 4 cups of bread cubes
1/2 tsp. ground cinnamon
1/4 tsp. ground nutmeg
1/8 tsp. salt
3/4 cup brown sugar, packed
1/2 cup melted butter
Wash apples, peel, core, cut into eighths. You should have about 7 to 8 cups of sliced apples. Place apple slices in bottom of buttered crockpot. Combine bread cubes with cinnamon, nutmeg, salt, sugar, butter; toss together. Cook on low for 2 1/2 to 4 hours. Serves 6.

This sounds yummy! I love apples and cinnamon. I finally found the school picture and posted it. It looks so silly I must have subconsciously misplaced it :)

Hmm. This is funny. For the past few days, I've been craving and eating apples. I didn't use to.

Glad I stopped by and learned about your recipe.

Yummy!!!

Thanks, Michelle, for your kind comment on my latest post. It still seems surreal that we're moving. I'll believe it when it actually happens. Sorry that trip to AZ isn't going to work out for you after all. :)
