The Bus Driver's Gift

Kayla's last day of school for winter break was last Tues. Joe picked her up from the bus and when they got home he had this big gift bag he said the bus driver gave to Kayla. I was not execting anything from the bus driver, much less something that seemed so big! That morning I gave the driver and the aide a bag of cookies, but that was it!

So Kayla opened her bag and in it was the Dance and Shout Elmo. Wow! I was really surprised the bus driver would give out a gift like that. I wondered if she gave all the kids on the bus the same thing. Last week when I was gift wrapping at the BX a guy came over with the TMX Elmo to have it wrapped. He mentioned his kids' bus driver got them the Dance and Shout one. I asked if they went to the preschool on base and they do. His daughter is in Kayla's class and his son is in the other morning class. So she did give out the same gifts to each child! I don't know how many kids actually ride the bus, but there are 2 morning classes and 2 afternoon classes.

Kayla enjoyed playing with this Elmo - over and over and over and over. She carried it around all afternoon and it had to take a nap with her that same day. After that I convinced her Elmo could nap in the glider chair in her room. She's running out of room in her bed with 3 baby dolls already!

Kayla now has a Popeye look going on when she smiles and says cheese!

She actually doesn't even let Elmo get through the whole Shout song anymore either. She likes to knock it down as soon as he starts singing to hear him say, "uh oh! Elmo fell down. A little help please." Then she says, "ok Elmo? All right?"

Note to my MIL: Yes I know you asked about getting her the TMX Elmo for Christmas and I suggested something else, and yes she probably would have enjoyed laughing along with that Elmo! But if you had bought that one - then she received this one - she would have had 2 of the mechanical-type Elmos and I probably would have lost my sanity (what's left of it anyway!) Besides, this Elmo has now sat under the tree, virtually untouched, for a couple of days now! Until now. After I finished posting this guess what she went to play with? Figures!

Olyvia hasn't really gotten into Elmo yet. She doesn't really notice him. She loves her Baby Einstein dvds (all 21), though. She pretty much ignores everything else. lol
It's so cute to see Kayla enjoying Elmo!! Hopefully, Olyvia will soon.

Hugs

She is just a doll. No wonder your blog is called Big Blueberry Eyes.

I can't believe that the bus driver got them all an Elmo. That was super sweet.

What a kind hearted and generous bus driver. I honestly say my oldest son received the largest dollar gift from his High school bus driver at graduation! They must develope quite a close relationship.

Love Elmo, love the laughs too! Can see how it might wear on the nerves real quick. lol

Wow, what a very generous bus driver!

Cute pictures of Kayla with Elmo.

Snuggle Bug got a Elmo water doodle pad and he loves it.

He's becoming quite the Elmo fan. In fact, he calls Sesame Street "Elmo street." :)

Oy Elmo. Luckily, we aren't too into Elmo over here, but we used to have a rock n roll Elmo when Justin was a baby. Sadly, his batteries ran out and they just don't make AA batteries anymore... hee hee...

Very sweet!
I always have this "argh!" moment when my poor mother-in-law asks if the kids would like something and I say yes OR no, and then the kids DO want it or are completely oblvious to it. I can't hit homeruns ALL the time!

Becca has the Potty Elmo and thankfully only plays with it in the bathroom!
