Grains of Gratitude

My grains of gratitude for this past week...

1. Grateful, of course, that my mom and Kelly had a safe flight to and from with no hassles.

2. Grateful they could even be here to share Thanksgiving with us. It's been 1.5 yrs since I've seen my sister and 9 months since my mom was last here. It was nice to have my mom's help in the kitchen! It was nice they were able to go to Kayla's gymnastics class - to see a little bit of "every day life" they don't get to see living so far away.

3. Grateful Joe had this 4-day long weekend off (well except for the 6 am call he received yesterday morning and had to go in for an hour. Because the base computer connectivity was down and you know how important that is on a Saturday, a Saturday following Thanksgiving no less!)

4. Grateful Joe took Kelly and Kayla to see "Happy Feet" and that Kayla did so well at the movies (her 2nd time going.) It actually kept her interest and she stayed and watched the whole thing. This gave my mom and me some time together to include a nice, quiet dinner at home.

5. Grateful for online holiday shopping! Yeah I might pay a little extra in shipping, but for me that beats fighting the crowds - I'm just not a crowd person!

Thanks Christine for the Grains of Gratitude!

Very nice Michelle. I have bought a few things online but usually I shop at stores....thinking it might be smarter to do it online though. I wonder if we will ever be able to buy groceries online...that would be really cool!

I'm so glad you had a great time with your mom and Kelly!! I didn't realize it had been so long since you had seen either one of them.

Hey Black Friday shopping is a tradition for your FIL and I !!LOL!! This year we got up at 2:30am so we could be at the mall in Wichita Falls by the time they opened at 5:00am!! Got lots of shopping done :-)

How wonderful that Kayla loved the movie, I've heard it's quite good!! I should start looking into online shopping, have never done that before...I don't care for crowds either so it would be the perfect thing. Michelle, thank you so much for the Buddy Walk thank you picture and magnet I received on Friday...the magnet is on my fridge:-)

My kids loved Happy Feet. I thought it was okay. That's great that while Joe and Kayla had some special time together you were able to have time with your mom. I'm glad to hear she and Kelly got home safely too.

Glad you had a great holiday! I did not set one foot inside a store on Friday. I'm a chicken, and well. . .given my track record. LOL

I'm glad you had such a nice visit with your mom and sister :) I confess I forked over a nice chunk of change at amazon.ca to avoid having to trudge around picking thing up for my inlaws ;)
