Grains of Gratitude

Once again it's time for 5 things to be grateful for.

1. For Kayla's teacher taking an hour out of her time to talk with me on toilet-training strategy and to make sure we're doing the same things at home and at school. I didn't expect it to take an hour, but she gave me a nice update on how Kayla is doing too.

2. Remember the Parent's Night Out I've mentioned before? That's been cancelled. Not enough participants. (why more parents didn't take advantage of it I don't know). It's such a bummer this has been cancelled as we really looked forward to that one Friday a month we, and our group of friends, were childless for a few hours. It would have been this past Friday too. So what am I grateful for? Well the community center on base has a "kids zone" (indoor play area) for up to age 5. They are opened until 8, so we had the kiddos in there and we sat right outside with tables and chairs and still had fun playing games. It wasn't quite the same because we were still frequently interrupted, but it was better than having it at someone else's house! More room and less clean up involved :)

3. Grateful that I won Pea's contest because who doesn't like to receive homemade chocolates? Ok, except you, Barb!

4. Grateful that I found this while shopping at the Commissary yesterday. Limited Edition Peppermint ice cream. Can I just say "YUM!" This is delicious and we are enjoying indulging in it. I wish they made it year round, but then again that might not be a good thing!

5. Grateful that my mom and sister arrived safely last night and are here for a week-long visit! (So if I'm not commenting on your blogs much this week you'll know why!) Kayla is soooooo enjoying having her Aunt Kelly here; hasn't let her out of her sight!

Thanks to Christine for starting Grains of Gratitude!

Michelle - thanks for joining in, as always :)

I love that your mom and sister are visiting - how cool is that???? You and Kayla are going to have a blast!!!!

Sorry about the couples night thing - that is such a bummer!!! I remember that my hubby and I didn't go out much when our kids were younger, cause we didn't have a handy sitter. It's much nicer now ;) I'm glad you enjoyed playing games with your group of friends anyway, but I'm sorry that option for a Friday night out a month won't be available anymore.

Can't wait to see pics of your family visit! And, I look forward to reading about all your fun adventures!!!

Happy Thanksgiving!!!

The twins love pretending (and in real time too) eating icecream - I might add peppermint flavour in - usually we have vanilla, choclate or strawberry! Enjoy your visitors - I hope everyone has fun.

Could you do a toilet-training post and share your strategies?
My daughter with DS is 4 1/2 and we're not really making progress.
