School pictures!
No, not mine by any stretch of the imagination! I don't think I ever took one decent school photo.
It's only preschool, but Kayla had her school picture taken and I realize what a "milestone" this is - even more so to mean she's really not my "baby" anymore (although I know she'll always be my baby!).
Having a school picture hanging in your house screams out "There is a KID living here!" - no more toddler anymore!
So now we're on the path to getting school pictures each year. Here's her first one; she was desperately in need of a trim of those bangs and I think she looks a little scared.
And hey - she's not even SMILING! See! She doesn't smile in each and every picture!

Not smiling and still looks adorable. I love it.
what a wonderful photo!! i'm anxious to get Aaron's back, he had them done last wednesday. i hope he smiled.
Oh yeah. She looks thrilled! :) It definitely is a step into "kidhood" when the school pics start filling the house.
Oh what a cutie-pie!!! Does she ever take a bad picture? We just ordered Nathaniel's school pics, not sure when they will be back...Not too great this year, he was not in the mood to sit :p We go on Saturday for the Christmas pic fight :p
What a beautiful photo--even if she isn't smiling.
Oh man, just the mention of school pictures sent shivers up my spine -- I always hated mine! But Kayla's of course, are adorable - even if she's not smiling. :) I love the new blog layout as well. I like all the pictures down the side! This has nothing to do with this post, but have you ever heard the song "All You Are" by Michael Card? I had used it in a DVD for Isabella's first birthday and I was watching it the other day -- we laugh because it mentions "your eyes so blue" - which is obviously not either of my girls and I automatically thought "This would be a perfect song for Kayla with her big beautiful blue eyes". Of course, my husband laughs because I talk about people that I've met through the "blogging" world, like I actually know them. :)
Ok that is so grown up!!! Kayla looks so much older!!! Definitely a serious student picture!
Wow! Your Blog looks great! I haven't been able to check it out for a week now. They did such a good job! That was so sweet for them to do it.
Kayla looks cute in her first school picture! Remember Katie didn't smile in her first picture also. she looks like she is about to but is not to sure.Kayla is sure growing up fast. She does look like a big girl in her picture. I think it is cute that she loves the bus and school so much! i loved the pictures of her wanting to ride the bus. She'll be like Tiffany and cry over x-mas vacation b/c there is no school!
Kayla is such a beauitful little girl. I've always said she looked like Joe. The older she gets the more you can see it. I see it alot in her school pic.

Thankyou for sharing her with us. I am going to be posting Cayti girl soon. Kayla reminds me SOO much of her except Cayti girl is 10.

Bless her little heart... love the "1st ever" school pic... sad because your "baby" is getting older one day at a time.. oh yes, I love your new blog page!! terrific!! fantastic!!! delightful, and beautiful... you have such wonderful, wonderful, dear friends!!! give my little Kayla a hug and kiss from Grandma... love mom
Well Kayla certainly doesn't have to smile to be adorable. Your blog looks awsome I am so jealous i want a makeover!!!
Glad to see all the new photos. Kayla is looking so happy and truely gorgeous.
Beautiful picture!Except for this year Kendall always kind of looks like Rodney Dangerfield-Mouth open with a surprised look on her face, partly due to the fact that her nose is so tiny that she has become a mouth breather, and partly because most of the time they wont take the time to try to make her smile. This year we got a big beautiful smile~and no surprised look!Kayla is gorgeous anyway...she cant take a bad picture....
She doesn't need to smile, she's so cute. And I don't think she looks scared. She looks very thoughtful. :-)
Kayla looks precious!! What a great photo!
I love your new blog layout! I'm jealous!! I've been wanting a new look, I'll get there someday!
How can a girl look so big and so teeny at the same time?!
She's darling!
She took a wonderful first school picture!! She's such a little sweetheart! They sure do grow up fast...this post reminded me of when my boys first started bringing home their school pictures:-)
Cute, cute, cute!
Smile or no smile...Kayla is just too sweet for words.
I love the picture to the left of her running in her red shoes. She just looks so carefree and happy!
:)
Kayla's Grandpa and I just love her very first school picture!! I just can't believe how fast our little darling is growing up!
I have my son and daughter's school pictures, all in the same frame on top of each other, it is so fun to place them all out side by side and look at how much they grew and changed from year to year.
I wrote on the back of each picture the date, school, and teacher's name, good thing too, because now I can hardly remember the teacher's names.
Enjoy this time, take it from my experience it goes by toooo quickly!
My daughter is now in her 3rd year of college, and my son is in the 9th grade. It seems like only yesterday, we brought home the preschool pictures!
Debbie from South Georgia
They do grow up so fast, and now that my daughter is all grown up and married, I keep telling her she will always be my baby...lol. hehe!
Pretty as a Picture! Literally. What a big girl she is now. So beautiful.
OMG...she looks so sweet in her picture!!!! She really is a babydoll Michelle.
Just look big she looks there. Quintus (6) had his first "big school" picture taken this year All I could think was - man my boy is in big school....how did that happen!
Whooo hooo Kayla - it's truly a milestone - no more baby :) She's a definite preschooler Michelle! She is darling, smiles or not :) Love it!
That anonymous was me - Christine and Brady - not sure why it won't let me log in - weird..... :)
