Happy Halloween!

I took a little video clip of Kayla saying "trick or treat" before we went out on Sun night. Then I thought I would see if she could say "happy halloween" - we've never said that word to her before, hadn't even thought about seeing if she could say it! Right before the video ends, if you listen carefully, you can just make out her saying "halloween."

And of course a couple of pictures in her ladybug costume!

Harrison and Kayla enjoying a lollipop in the back of our van
Yep...same lollipop
Still working on that treat - the only one she had :)

And because I couldn't post most of all day yesterday (thanks, Blogger!) here are the pictures I was trying to post! These are from the walk we took through the mountain trail on Sat.
The beginning of the trail:

How sweet...
Then Kayla decided she didn't want to walk anymore. She sat right down and said "no!"
Saw some interesting things on the trail:
This heart carved into the tree
Some red bark which looked pretty neat:
a view of White Sands - it's amazing what a zoom lens will do! We were not this close to it at all, and if you were just looking at it with your eyes from where we were it looks like a thin white line on the horizon. This, to me, makes it look like waves crashing on the shore.
This rock which looks like a face
and then this cute face popped out at me:

Blogger has been a monster lately! Looked like you had a wonderful time on your hike. Kayla's sit down strike was too cute, and that picture of the white sands was amazing! It really does look like the ocean, with mountains behind it! :)

Yup. I heard the "Happy Halloween."

My 3-year old went trick-or-treating last night.

“Are you going to say Trick or Treat?” I asked.

“Hmm,” he said, thinking. “But I’m a little shy.”

That’s OK, I assured him.

On the first house he visited, he grabbed two handfuls of candies and stuffed them in his goody bag.

Hmm. A little shy, huh?
