So Kayla and I were sitting on the couch sharing a banana.
She's looking at my leg and then puts her finger on some spot. Next thing I hear is, "uh oh! color!"
My first thought was, "did I get a crayon mark somewhere on my thigh? And if so how did that happen?"
So I look down trying to find this "color" mark she sees. She's pointing at my veins. She looks up at me and says, "blue!"
Gee thanks for pointing that out Kayla!

out of the mouths of babes... :) that is why we have children, so they can point out all our flaws...
Pat her on the back for getting the color right.. way to go Kayla.. love Grandma/mom
I'm sorry, but this struck me as quite funny! I have plenty of blue veins myself and I'm sure in time Snuggle Bug will be pointing them out to me as well. Right now, he points to every mole he can find on my body and says, "Owie!" with a concerned look on his little face. :)
Thanks for your comment on my Blog of the Week post! It seems that you "military brats" stick together, don't you? ;)
Thanks mom :)
OW - don't be sorry! It was very funny! So funny I had tears coming out of my eyes at her innocence of pointing out the "color" I had on my legs!
That is so funny! The things that come out of a child's mouth! I once had a little girl ask me if I was a grandma due to the kind of shoes I was wearing (keep in mind I'm 25)!!!
That is just too sweet! They are so innocent. And good for knowing the color!
When I taught 4th grade I had a student tell me I was trying to look like a teenager...and that it wasn't working.
heh-heh-heh-heh-heh-heh... That is hilarious!!! I can't stop laughing! Yeah, pat her on the back for getting the color right... You gotta see the bright side of things! Hahaha!! I can't stop laughing!! I'm tearing up here!! hahaha!! Kayla is beautiful. Give her a big hug for me.
P.S. I'm laughing with you, not at you... You know this, right??
You've just gotta love the things that kids say!! Like your mom said, pat her on the back for getting the color right and also pat yourself on the back for being the one to teach her her colors :-)
Thanks for the warning - I am not showing my brats my legs! Goodness me I'll have to start bracing myself for some unwelcome childish honesty - gotta love that total honesty - on someone else!
She is so funny. Don't send her here, I have TONS of blue! :) I love the pics of her below going to school too. She is a real beauty!
I just read this post again...
hahahahahahahaha!! It's still killin' me!!
LOL kids say the funniest things :)
LOL
*no other words nessesary for this one*
hehe At least she cares enough to point them out?!?!?! We have to love their pure innocence and honesty!
My son once pointed out that I had "stickers" on my legs!
Out of the mouths of babes!
Kayla is absolutely beautiful! Way to go for knowing her colors!!
Debbie from South Georgia

That made me laugh!Kendall points out "boo boo's and boogers.Honesty to boot-not necessarily a bad quality but definitely humbling...LOL

Don't hold back Kayla.
LOL At least she got the colour right!
Well Mommy, you're providing her with such a great way to learn her colors! Don't you just love it when they start picking up on all your flaws?
