Grains of Gratitude

My blogging friend, Christine, of Bradys Bunch has started a Sunday "Grains of Gratitude" where she lists 5 things she is grateful for. The meaning behind the title is because when her husband was growing up, at every Thanksgiving his mom would hand her kids grains of wheat and they would tell what they were grateful for - how neat!

So my 5 things (my goal is to name 5 things I'm grateful for from the past week)

1. Grateful that Kayla seems to be enjoying riding the school bus. I was feeling guilty about having her ride it when we live so close to the school...but guess what? No tears! She has not cried once since I've put her on the bus (knock on wood!) and the week before she cried every morning I dropped her off at preschool. It's much easier to walk away with her not crying...so I guess so far the school bus is a good thing!

2. Grateful that we have a wonderful MOPS group in town that I attend and this year I'm a member of the Steering Committee as the finance person.

3. Grateful for the yummy-tasting pancakes my husband made for breakfast this morning!

4. Grateful for the wonderfully relaxing time we spent at the zoo with Kayla today.

5. Grateful that Joe didn't have to work last Friday and Monday so we had a nice 4-day weekend with him home.

If you post about your "Grains of Gratitude" too please leave a comment on Christine's blog so she can read about it too.

These are wonderful things to be grateful for! I'm so glad that Kayla seems to like riding the bus. What a relief! And that's so nice that Joe made you pancakes. What a swell guy your Joe is! :)

No worries about not having advice for how to entertain a toddler in Vegas. We've manage to find a few things to do. I'll be posting about them soon, I hope. :) I still have to post about our Labor Day weekend as well. :)

I spent a couple Thanksgivings with my girfriend and once we were in NJ for Thanksgiving at her daughters. We always go around the table before we eat and everyone says something they are thankful for....I think this is a neat way to start off Thanksgiving dinner.

What a nice idea. I am so disorganized and spacey I cannot commit to anything. So not like me but I just can't get my ducks in a row.

Sounds like you have had a wonderful week with a lot to be thankful for!

You have such a wonderful list of things to be grateful about...so many of us take things for granted and forget to be grateful for what we do have! So glad to hear Kayla is liking the school bus...I love the pic of her with her school bag! lol Just precious!! Hugs!

What a nice idea. I'll have to check this out. I really like the idea of posting about things we're grateful for. And I suspected Kayla would like the school bus. Most kids do.

We should all do more gratitude lists - on blog or otherwise. We have so much to be thankful for but sometimes forget!
