I've been slacking

We've been back from Albuquerque for almost 2 wks and I haven't yet posted her portraits from Kiddie Kandids!

But first just a couple pics from the zoo:

She's peeking at me through the binoculars

I love her expression in this one. It's like she's saying "I see an animal! Let's go!"

So I was hoping for better cooperation from her this year during the photo shoot - didn't happen! She was more than happy to be up on the platform playing with the different props etc...but the second you tried to move her into a position for the photographer to get the picture she started pulling away and saying "no!" She wanted to sit everywhere BUT that one little spot in the middle where she needed to be!

You should have heard us (me, Joe and MIL) trying to get her to look towards the camera and smile. Usually when you say Kayla smile, or say cheese, she'll stop what she's doing and give you that big cheesy grin. Not this time! We were all yelling, "Kayla cheese! Kayla look over here! Kayla look at daddy! Kayla what is daddy doing? He's so silly! Kayla smile! Yay Kayla (clapping ensued) This was so exhausting just to get her pictures taken!

This is what we ended up with:

At the end of the session the photographer brought out this box of dress-up items (hats, scarves, beads etc) which Kayla loved putting them on. She still wouldn't smile though - the little stinker!

I love the pics but especially the ones with the hat! She is so cute and she doesn't have to smile, why do we always have people smile? Can't they just be natural??!! This is from her G-Aunt Debbie that doesn't like to smile when her picture is taken!

Thanks Laura!

Aunt Debbie - maybe she'll take after you when it comes to professional pictures and not smile! :) Do you know she STILL says "unca Eric!" at least once a day?!

She is adorable! I guess we are exhausting our kids with photo-ops, but it is hard not to when they are so cute ;-)

I have no clue what MSN did to the spaces so that you can not post your name etc. I am so ready to change blog, but I do not want to loose everything that I already written... Wish I knew good ol' Billy-boy (Gates) soi I could call him and complain...

She looks so cute! I love the one with the hat half way on. Adorable. All the pictures came out cute, but I know what you mean about trying to get them to cooperate. I don't take mine to professional places anymore. They always end up crying over something... Anyway, Kayla looks gorgeous.

I'm glad everyone liked the pictures! :) We liked the hat pictures too...and the very last one where it is pulled mostly over her face is the one we chose for our free 8x10. Just couldn't resist that one!

But dahling... she's so gorgeous. She's practicing a pout in that last shot. Showing off her 'serious' side. LOL. It's my fave.

What a sweetie. I'm a slacker too.

The pictures are gorgeous!! I love the last one the best! I have never taken Tristan he always cries hahahahaha can't say I blame him. I agree with G Aunt Debbie. Why must we always smile for these pictures I prefer natural ones that capture the childs personality.
