Cancer

It's an ugly word isn't it? And it's something we all probably have in common - have a family member, or friend, or neighbor, or co-worker who has battled cancer. (Edited: I've had 2 grandmother's pass away from cancer, my best friend's dad is fighting it...it really does touch everyone)

There is a mom in Canada I "know" from a T21 message board who is battling cancer now; she has two sons. Here is Annette's blog about her journey.

And Nicole of Much More Than A Mom has a dad who is fighting this disease. So Nicole set up a store where every single penny of profit will be donated to cancer research. The best part is that her and her husband are going to match, dollar for dollar, up to $200! How awsome is that?! Her goal is to have $200 from sales and/or donations so her and her husband will put in $200 for a $400 donation to the Canadian Cancer Society for Christmas.

You can read more about Nicole's cause from her post.

Prayers go out to Annette and her family. What a great idea Nicole came up with. One of my best friends was diagnosed 2 years ago with breast cancer (has 2 girls) and is doing very well. We lost Spider's dad to esophageal cancer.

HUGS and Prayers!

I read part of Annette's blog and cried. My college roommate died at 28 of breast cancer, low stage, but it suddenly spread to her brain four years after diagnosis and successful treatment and she passed away five weeks after learning about the brain tumors. It is just so unfair and I would love for someone to find a cure or at least a cause to all these cases of cancer. thanks for the links.

My prayers go out to Annette. Cancer has taken alot of my fmaily members and just last year my Mother-in-law. I just wish they would find a cure for cancers. It is hard to watch someone you love who was always so strong just slip away.

My thoughts and prayers are with those families. Cancer has taken away so many of my loved ones...my dad, my gran, my cousin Susie, my aunt, my friend Jane, etc. I hope one day that dreaded disease will be permanently extinguished!!

My Father died today at 5 pm, from cancer of the colon. My Mother is currently fighting a rare blood cancer, it has taken a toll in my family. I didn't read the whole blog, I just can't read about cancer today.

I lost a grandma to esophgeal cancer and my dad is in remission from Hodgkin's.

I think it's safe to say we've all known someone afflicted with it at one time or another.

Hey Michelle,
Yes cancer is tragic. One of my dearest friends dies 6 months ago with cancer. I was able to be with her alot and help in her journey. It was devastating but at least she is no longer suffering.
I went to visit Annets blog and committed to praying for her in her journey. I feel like God may be leading me in this ministry, supporting pepole with cancer.
Thanks for letting us know about her and I will be praying

Michelle. I am planning on writing a post about cancer later today.

My oldest daughter's friend has been here for almost a week. Her mother is going through chemo for breast cancer.

I had a long talk with her mother last night....I don't know her at all really, but I had this strong urge in my heart to go take care of her.

She had been throwing up for hours, and feared her daughter was ashamed of her. Ugh....

I hugged Angela and told her mom was going to be ok, but the scary part is that you just don't really know if she will.

I will write about this in the evening.

Michelle, thank you so much for supporting us in this (I finally cleared my cache again today and got to see it - not sure what's up with that?)
