Treasure Tuesday

My Tuesday Treasure is a series of pictures from Kayla's birthday party. It was a great party and wonderful memories. All the kids got along so well...no meltdowns from anyone!

This is Kayla with Izzy. We have been great friends with her parents for the last 5 yrs now. Our girls are only 1.5 months apart. And sadly they will be moving next month.

When we sang Happy Birthday Kayla tried to sing along too in this adorably cute voice! At the end we all clapped and she got just as excited shouting "Yay!!"

Kayla knows how to blow, she can blow through a straw, blow a bubble (most times!) and you can feel the air when she purses her lips and blows...but she doesn't really blow hard enough. We had been practicing for her to blow out a candle and the flame would flicker but not go out until the 4th or 5th time of her blowing.

After we finished singing the little girl in this picture leaned forward and blew out Kayla's candle! It was so funny because it happened before anyone saw it coming! So we relit the candle and told Kayla to blow and she blew it out on her first breath! Joe and I were surprised and he later said, "She just didn't want Zoyi showing her up!"

So excited after blowing the candle out

She had such fun opening her presents. Every time she would pull tissue paper out she would say "ooooh!" or "wow!"

Playing during the party

One of the gifts she got from her buddy Harrison (that he picked out for Kayla all by himself) is a little turtle. She loves this thing! She took it out of the bag, said "turtle!" and immediately hugged it, kissed it and said "aaah." She carried it around with her while she was playing in the Kid Zone, sending it down the slide, wouldn't let go of it! And that continued when we got home. When she took a nap look who is also "napping" on the pillow with her. And notice her growing collection of babies that have to be in bed with her too...pretty soon there won't be any room left for Kayla!

She also recieved a stroller, broom and a new baby doll. These items haven't left her eye sight since they arrived! She loves this baby doll (and even better that it came with a bottle so she can feed her!) When we get our shoes to go out she calls "baby shoes!" and tries to put a pair of her shoes on the baby. I found an old pair of newborn shoes Kayla had and for the most part those manage to stay on this doll's feet. She pushes the stroller around with one hand and the broom in the other.

Kayla and her new favorite baby doll.

Whew! I guess this was picture overload! Actually there are a lot more pictures, but I had to stop posting at some point didn't I?! If you want to see the rest of the pictures just click on the flickr image to the right on the side bar!

And I think I'm probably done with birthday posts now! Well, there will probably be some more pictures in a few weeks of her with a new present. When her grandma comes for a visit she's bringing a present that is too big to mail!

She is just the sweetest little girl, that beautiful smile always brightens my day :)

Looks like she had a great time.
It's hard being military and having friends move, my friend is leaving in 2 weeks and her son is best friends with my daughter, so it's going to be really tough for them :)

Hugs,
Sandra
