Treasure Tuesday

My treasure is of these two paintings of Kayla.

Michael Jurogue Johnson is a gifted artist who paints animals and children from their photographs.

The first photograph I sent him was of Kayla at 11 months old; he painted the picture on a notecard (which I of course bought 30 right up and sent them out to friends and family!)

The 2nd picture I sent was of Kayla at 2 yrs old. He painted her into a setting of tulips. Just look at the care and detail in his painting - right down to the position of Kayla's feet and the little sandals!

I am so amazed at his talent and encourage you to take a look at his website...the animal paintings are just beautiful. If you ever wanted to have a painting of your pet or family you can commission him to do a painting. Here is the link to his commissioned work here.

Oh, by the way, this extremely talented artist also happens to have Down syndrome.

I honestly don't know much about Down syndrome. I find that so fascinating that he has such a beautiful talent.

I can see why you treasure those pictures...they are beautiful...but how could they not be with Kayla in them? :))

Wow - I was impressed even before I read that the artist has DS - I really must get working on Hannah's fine motor skills! She has just started doing tentative 'strokes' rather than dots.
