A Father's Love

There's something about seeing a newborn in their daddy's arms that just makes your heart melt. These big, tough guys become tender and sensitive, amazement showing in their eyes at this little person who they are now responsible for.

Joe became a great father before Kayla was even born. He went with me to all my doctor appointments, talked to my belly and read books out loud so she would get to recognize his voice. He drove to the hospital basically one-handed because his other arm was reaching back between the seats for me to hold his hand and squeeze during contractions. He's been a "hands-on" dad since she was born - sharing in the diaper changes, bedtime routines, feedings (when she would take breast milk by a bottle!), giving her 99% of her baths, etc.

He has the qualities that I wish I had more of - patience being the main one!

She is daddy's little girl and I love watching them together. So in honor of Father's Day here are some of my favorite photos of them together...

WOW! These are some great photos! I totally see why you call her Blueberry Eyes, from the one pic where she's peeking over her Daddy's shoulder. Full of wonder & ready to inhale the world.
