David Allman 1940-2006

I just found out a dear friend of mine passed away on Apr 3. He fought a battle with AML.

I worked with Dave at the Air Force Academy. He was like everyone's grandfather - always had a kind word for you, an ear to listen, a joke to tell. Even after he retired from civil service and I moved out-of-state he still kept in touch. His youngest granddaughter was born 2 months after Kayla and he enjoyed sharing stories with me about her. Dave supported us in our annual Buddy Walks by sponsoring us each year. He gave so generously and even so last year when he sent his donation he said he hoped he could send more next year. That's just the type of person he was.

I'll miss his emails, Christmas cards, hearing him talk about his beloved Broncos and KY Wildcats, disussing the Red Sox and Patriots with me (he would pull for my teams if his were out of the running).

I know he will be deeply missed. Rest In Peace Dave.

Michelle, he had to be a good guy if he loved the Wildcats. :) I am sure he will be missed. I'll include his family and friends in my prayers tonight. Hugs honey!
