PayPal Button For Donations
I think I figured out how to make the donation button to put on my blog! Hopefully this will make donating for Carly's portrait easier! There is also an option to use a credit card if you don't have a Paypal account.

Doing Something
I'm still thinking about the loss of Carly ... sad doesn't even describe it; I can't imagine what Joany is going through.
Carly was such a beautiful little girl, full of life, laughter, love, and spunk. I loved reading about her adventures and seeing her pictures. Kayla is close in age to Carly and I imagined they would have such fun together.
I want to do something for Joany, to let her know Carly won't be forgotten. I was thinking about what we, as the Down syndrome community, could do to express how we feel.
I'd like to commission artist Michael Johnson to do one of his paintings/portraits of Carly. Michael Johnson (who happens to have Down syndrome) does beautiful paintings and if you haven't seen his work you're missing out!
He can do individual child portraits with water color, acrylics, or oil paintings and these can be done on canvas, or board, framed or unframed. I think this would be a beautiful gift to send to Carly's family.
You can contribute through paypal... and if you don't have a paypal account there is an option to use a credit card.
Thoughts anyone?
UPDATED: A couple suggestions were made to donate anything in excess to something locally in Carly's name - I think that is a great idea too. Her obituary mentions Pediatric Cardiology at Mott Children's Hospital in Memory of Carly George...so that sounds like a plan to me.
Also, Jasmine has the button on her blog - feel free to grab it as well.
